The images I retain can become stand alone drawings or small fragments of drawings that become descriptive elements in my jewelry. I combine them with materials collected from the places I encounter: shells, rocks, bones, pieces of wood, glass or other found materials. The constructed metal elements present and emphasize the drawn and collected parts and constitute the structure. These pieces are a distilled visual recollection; they give me the opportunity to describe an event, tell a story, or recall an experience--always colored and altered by time, memory, and my own aesthetics.
My jewelry takes several forms based primarily on the component imagery. Neckpieces or bracelets allow for flexible construction and the inclusion of multiple images or elements while brooches can provide important visual impact.
